Spring Cleaning is...

FINISHED!!! Yay, yippee, hooray!!

I have a spotlessly clean classroom and - even better - I know where everything is!

And - and this is the best of all - I can SEE my desk!! Huge big smiley face!! :)

So since everything looks so awesome I am going to show you some pictures :) Bear in mind that my desk was inherited from someone else and is ancient. It also weighs a ton but I kind of like it anyway. I never sit at it so it's usually just a piling place but... no more!

This is the new and improved desk!!

The new and improved reading corner/carpet area/meeting time place:

Those pretty learning behavior posters on the white board are from Meg at Fourth Grade Studio - I love them. You can find them here - she has different styles available so just browse her store.

And just so you can totally appreciate how much STUFF I got rid of:

Piles of ancient files from equally
ancient metal file cabinet
Cabinet gone and all files
reduced to these 2 neat little
boxes that fit under my desk :)

And finally: the awesomely clean classroom ready for children on Tuesday :) I still have one window to finish but I am pretty pleased with myself :)

Mind you, I shouldn't have started to write this blog post while my husband was home for lunch because ... he is now wondering why our house doesn't look like the classroom :) Sadly (hee hee) I have run out of cleaning time. Well, maybe I'll tidy up a little bit tomorrow...

... or... maybe not :)

  1. I'm not sure how I even found your blog- I was just blog hopping around and here I am so I've become your latest follower :)

I have a massive old HEAVY desk too- which I've grown to love so much that when a fancier newer one was available at the start of this year I said "no thanks."

Your classroom looks great- isn't it an AMAZING feeling to have everything so oragnised- I need to do a big tidy/clean too... we have holidays in a week so... maaayybe haha! (I'm in New Zealand so completely different school dates)

  2. Nice to meet you :) It must be autumn for you isn't it? How long will your holidays be? And yes, it's fantastic to have the classroom organized :) I'm sitting looking at my disaster of a house right now with ZERO motivation. Have you found the blog Global Teachers Connect yet? It organizes collaborative projects around the world - if you're wanting to connect with other classrooms at all. There's a collaborative Earth Day project posted now and a class blogging one to come shortly :)

  3. Hi Lynn thanks for pinning my reading post! I've started following you on Pinterest so I can see it haha!

No I haven't found Global Teachers Connect yet- I'll go exploring after this. Our class has JUST set up their email accounts etc with our IT lady so we are ready to start blogging! just in time for that next collaborative project!

I notice that your About Me says you teach year four (grade three). Where are you in the world? I teach year six in New Zealand- equivalent to fifth grade in the USA. I haven't seen anyone else make that comment about the different year levels

    1. Don't know if you got my email so I'll reply here too :) I'm in Bermuda - Commonwealth as well so I guess that explains the similar year group names :)

    1. I'm pretty in awe myself I have to say!! Would that I could transfer this motivation to the house! Somehow it's just not the same though :)

  5. I got the "spring cleaning bug" in my classroom this week, too! Sad to say that I'm not finished yet though. :(

Just found your blog through Jivey's giveaway and look forward to snooping around.
